One of the hottest new trends in beauty is the CND Shellac manicure. If you are among the millions of women who hate when they ruin their freshly painted nails before they get the chance to dry, or are sick and tired of nail polish that starts chipping away just days after having a manicure, then the CND Shellac manicure is custom made for you.
Sure, the Shellac manicure will cost a little more, about $35-$45 in most salons (ours is $25) versus $15-25 for a regular manicure, but when you factor in that your nails will look perfectly manicured and polished for 2 weeks, well then, that extra expense just doesn't seem to matter much. Besides, since it lasts longer, the Shellac manicure actually isn't any more expensive in the long run.
The Shellac manicure process is slightly different than a regular manicure, but doesn't take any more time to accomplish. This patent pending, first of its kind, hybrid nail color goes on like a polish, but performs like a gel. You'll receive a base coat, two coats of the nail color, and a top coat. In between coats your nails will be exposed to a special UV light to ''set'' the polish. One of the best things about the CND Shellac manicure is there is no drying time. That's right, zero, nada, none! As soon as the manicure is done you can resume all of your normal activities. No more ruining your fresh manicure by reaching into your purse for your keys!
The one drawback, if you can call it a drawback when this process is so great, is that you have to return to the nail salon when you want the polish removed. It does not come off with regular nail polish remover. The salon must soak your nails in Acetone just as you would to soak of Acrylic Nails. Then they can easily push the flakes of polish off with a stick, and you're ready for another Shellac manicure. But the bonus is you get with this product is that it's hypoallergenic, and it does not contain the carcinogens DBP, formaldehyde, or toluene and neither do most of my products.
